Deliverance! It Has Come! Guestbook

Welcome! The purpose of this web site is to honor my Dad. He was a WWII POW at Los Banos Philippines during times harder than many today can imagine.

I am the Principal of UP Rural High School, UP Los Banos. Our school is the recipient of the scholarship program of the Los Banos Liberation Memorial Foundation since 2003. In gratitude, we are committed to be one with the former POWs, members of the 11th Airborne Division , ROTC Hunter\' guerrillas, Filipino families who have suffered during the war to inform generations at the successful Los Banos rescue. We are now working to dedicate one small corner in our school library to be names as \"Remember Los Banos 1945\" corner where photos, memorabilia items (small ones) and BOOKS will be for public view/access. We believe that this pasrt of the local history must nver be forgottenv( itronically, we don\'t read this in the Philippine history textbooks that schools are using) .We hope we can request for complimentary copy of books about the Los Banos rescue, if available. Thank you!

I was a kid in Los Banos with my mother Lucy and younger brother Ronnie. My mother was friends with the two young Filipino girls who worked in the Commandant's office. The evening before the rescue, the girls begged my mother not to go to roll-call the next morning as the Japanese would machine-gun all of us the moment we were lined up. Does anyone remember Lucy and her two boys? Can anyone trace the name HILL scratched on a US Army aluminium cup given to me by a GI? My only souvenir Los Banos.

My Mom's cousin was a POW in the camp. I am trying to find out more information about daily life in the camp. I waited much too long to talk to my relatives who could share first hand knowledge. God bless you father.

I knew Willie Jameison and Leo Stancliff in the 50's, 60's and 70's and have read several of the Los Banos accounts. It inspires me of those who have given so much for truth's sake.

Thank you so much for sharing ALL of this. I have heard many stories over my lifetime. Uncle Willie was also special to me. I lived most of my life in Oregon/Washington so heard much from Uncle Willie...especially when he was in our home when I was a young girl. This is just more affirmation of God's hand in all his creation....and all his care for his children. Thank you again for your wonderful work and time spent here sharing with all.

I was in the work in the '60's & early 70's. I'd heard of some of the workers being held as POW's in the Philipines during WWII. I really appreciate this documentary, which helps me to understand many things that I'd wondered about. Thank you!

My father, John Nicholas, was at both Santo Tomas and Los Banos. It took 2 years to recover his physical health after his return. In some ways he never got over it, but lived a long life to 89. He became a "heath food net." I wonder if that was common among that were deprived of a reasonable diet for so long? Thank you for putting this together.
