Forum #19 Observances for July 2022

Although JUly 4, Independence Day, usually tells us that summer is finally here, it seemed quieter than usual in our area of Long Island. For some reason, all the firewods were either scheduled the weekend before (July 4th was a Monday.) or the following weekend. That seems so strange to me. NO FIREWORKS ON 4th of July? Well at least NYC still had the Macy's 4th of July fireworks for 2022. Check it out on YouTube: https://youtu.be/n2Lh37V3AK0).
Of course we had the usual barbecue of hot dogs, hamburgers and chicken with the kids, and July is known for barbecues & fun as it is:
National Grilling Month
National Hot Dog Month
National Picnic Month
National Blueberry Month
National Watermelon Month and of course
National Icecream Month. (https://www.today.com/life/holidays/july-holidays-and-observances-rcna33373)

How are you enjoying the beginning of summer?

Enjoy the warm weather !

Re: July Discussion Forum

Pat did a great job mentioning all of the special days. I especially like National Ice Cream Month.
I recall a couple of special days in July. 60 Years ago on July 23 our younger daughter was born. Boy does that make you feel old.
Many years ago we were traveling in Paris and it happened to be July 14th or Bastille Day. It was the best display of Fireworks I've ever seen live. We were young and everyone including us were dancing in the streets. It was a magical night to remember.
