Our company wants to cut operating costs, but every department has a different idea of what should be automated first. Sales wants CRM updates fixed, finance complains about invoices, and operations spends time chasing order statuses. We cannot automate everything at once. Which workflows should come first if the goal is to save time and reduce repeated manual work?
Re: Which workflows should companies automate first?
The first automation target should be something boring and repeated every day. Invoice creation, lead routing, order status updates, document generation, stock requests, or onboarding steps are good examples if people already follow the same pattern manually. A company should be able to measure the result too: fewer corrections, faster response time, fewer missed updates, or fewer hours spent on the same admin task.
