Re: Traditional recipes to complement a South African wine tasting

Hello Jenni, I would suggest the following as really traditional South African:

Soup: Oxtail Soup, Fish and onion soup
Fish: Malay fish cakes, Pickled fish
Meat: Bobotie,Sosaties or Tomato Bredie
salads: Copper penny salad, curried banana salad
Veggies: Pan fried sweet potatoes, Pumpkin fritters, Samp and beans
Puddings: Malva pudding, bread pudding, sago pudding
Sweets: Koeksisters
The recipes are all on my site
Enjoy!
Peter

Be sure to include Mont Rochelle's- you can get from www.goodhopewineco.com. They have a couple of selectons. Also, good old Porcipine Ridge.

Cheers

Thanks for the tip! I went to the site, but don't see a way to purchase online.

I had planned on visiting several shops here in SF, one of the best is K&L, whose SA wines are these: http://www.klwines.com/find/search.asp?id=32

If you happen to want to puruse that list and let me know if there are any must haves, please feel free!

Thanks,
Jenni

Whoops. I see they have a "where to purchase" section. Looks like a short drive to Napa will solve that problem.

Thanks again.
