1 The LORD will bring on you, on your people, and on your father's house SUCH DAYS as have never come
2 The oracle concerning Damascus, Damascus is about to be removed from being a city and will become a fallen ruin
3 Those also who are tall in stature will be cut down, and those who are lofty will be abased
4 Everyone of them is Godless an evildoer, and every mouth is speaking foolishness
5 All joy has reached its eventide, the gladness of the earth is banished
6 Terror, and the pit, and the snare are upon you, O inhabitant of the earth!
7 For the Lord of Hosts is taking away the mighty man and the warrior,the judge and the prophet, the diviner and the elder, the captain of fifty and the honorable man, the counselor and the expert artisan, and the skillful enchanter
8 On every head is baldness, every beard is shorn
9 The people willingly oppress one another
10 And Women rule over them
