German unemployment an inspiration
BERLIN, Dec. 10 (UPI) --
The highest unemployment in Germany in 70 years is giving playwrights and scriptwriters a lot of inspiration for movies and plays. The 5 million jobless have spawned performances such as "Life Without Work;" "To Work, Get Set, Go" and "I'm Sorry, You're Fired," reported the Daily Telegraph Saturday. "Those who have no work worry they will never work again and envy those who have," said Holger Borggrefe, director of the new film "Welcome to the Club." "Those in work worry about being fired, and those whose jobs are relatively secure accuse those not in work of not trying hard enough." Borggrefe, who became unemployed five days before his wedding, used unemployed actors who worked free in his film.
