Suspect held in Texas shootings

DALLAS, July 2 (UPI) --

Texas police were holding an unidentified 22-year-old man Wednesday in a series of roadway shootings in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

Authorities say charges of aggravated assault, endangering a child and deadly conduct will be filed against a man who was arrested in Garland late Tuesday, The Dallas Morning News reported.

The suspect was picked up less than two hours after a man witnesses said was driving a Honda Prelude fired into the wall of a Garland restaurant.

It was the sixth shooting incident in three days, The Fort Worth Star-Telegram said.

The newspaper says police found a gun in the suspect's car, which matched the description of the one driven by the restaurant shooter.

Three people have been injured in the shootings that took place in Garland, Mesquite, Richardson and Plano.
