Lisburn Exiles Forum

(Site is no longer operational pending a major long overdue overhaul of the entire website. Thank you for your patience. Site should still be visible and searchable for old posts.)

The Lisburn Exiles Forum is dedicated to the memory of James Goddard Collins (The Boss) who single-handedly built LISBURN.COM (with a lot of help from many contributors) from 1996 to 29th November 2012. This website was his passion and helping people with a common interest in the City of Lisburn around the world is his lasting legacy.

'D' Day. 6 June.

Re: Sad..

Carolina, why didn't you put something on?

Re: Sad..

On D day along with my work mate and friend Sammy Topping we were in the snack bar in Woolworths on Bow street we heard a Belfast Telegraph newspaper boy screaming "D Day, D Day" the allies have landed in France.

A couple of months prior to that I was on vacation in Moville Donegall along with my Aunt and several other people, Lough Foyle was packed with ships of all kinds obviously building up for the invasion, it was quite a sight??? Mauri
