The Lisburn Exiles Forum is dedicated to the memory of James Goddard Collins (The Boss) who single-handedly built LISBURN.COM (with a lot of help from many contributors) from 1996 to 29th November 2012. This website was his passion and helping people with a common interest in the City of Lisburn around the world is his lasting legacy.

Was reading a very interesting article in the local newspaper just now. Today 170 years ago,Lola Montez a 25 year old IRISH GIRL whose proper name was Elisabeth Rosanna Gilbert arrived in Munich and became the mistress of King Ludwig 1. He gave the equilivant of 12,million Euro ( 240,222 Gulden ) out on her, building her a palace and other luxurious houses. After almost 2 years or their affair Ludwig 1 abdicated because of her as. She then left him and took a number of other lovers. Women! Women! Women!
