The Lisburn Exiles Forum is dedicated to the memory of James Goddard Collins (The Boss) who single-handedly built LISBURN.COM (with a lot of help from many contributors) from 1996 to 29th November 2012. This website was his passion and helping people with a common interest in the City of Lisburn around the world is his lasting legacy.

Death of Harper Lee

Just heard on the radio of the death of Harper Lee, the novelist. She was 89 years old. She wrote the best-selling novel "To Kill a Mockingbird". She wrote "Go set a Watchman" first, but never wanted it published as she wasn't happy with the book. However, just last year, and despite her efforts, the publishers went ahead and published it. She wrote one brilliant novel in "Mockingbird" and I have read it over and over again. She based the character, Scout, on herself. She had a good, long life and her novel will be read forever. May she rest in peace.

Re: Death of Harper Lee

Ann,

Saw the film but never read the book. A must do now as the book is always much better than the film.
