Lisburn Exiles Forum

(Site is no longer operational pending a major long overdue overhaul of the entire website. Thank you for your patience. Site should still be visible and searchable for old posts.)

The Lisburn Exiles Forum is dedicated to the memory of James Goddard Collins (The Boss) who single-handedly built LISBURN.COM (with a lot of help from many contributors) from 1996 to 29th November 2012. This website was his passion and helping people with a common interest in the City of Lisburn around the world is his lasting legacy.

Bridge St. Newsagents

My mothers side of the family had a newsagents at 55 Bridge St. Lisburn from the late 1800s until the early 1930s. The shop was owned and run by Elizabeth Hughes and her daughter Ellen Jane Hughes so would be thrilled to see any old photos of this area during the period of ownership . I have seen one photo dated c1930 which actually shows the shop with advertising boards outside and almost certainly my grandmothers car on the other side of the shop. Thanks in advance.
