Lisburn Exiles Forum

(Site is no longer operational pending a major long overdue overhaul of the entire website. Thank you for your patience. Site should still be visible and searchable for old posts.)

The Lisburn Exiles Forum is dedicated to the memory of James Goddard Collins (The Boss) who single-handedly built LISBURN.COM (with a lot of help from many contributors) from 1996 to 29th November 2012. This website was his passion and helping people with a common interest in the City of Lisburn around the world is his lasting legacy.

TAKEN FROM FACEBOOK

IN SUMMERS CRIMSON EVE
If I pass away tonight, while locked in broken sleep
What of me will then remain, what memories will you keep
Could you see me looking back, there…
deep into your eyes
And not mistake me for some distant memory, you’ve revised
Would I be just lost to you, a reason so to grieve
Or smile, lost in thoughts of days we’d lie...
in Summers crimson eve
Would you see my essence somehow there,
in ambiance
Could I take your hand again, in translunary dance
If I was gone, before the morning light embraced the day
Would I find myself and what we’ve known, a ragged castaway?
Tell me now before I go, so I may understand
Whisper in my ear my love, it seems my time is close at hand
I hope you know, that it was not my choice to leave you now
My thoughts have been of only you, however fate has disavowed
To leave you here trapped in your grief, my worthiness uncertain
My one desire to be with you again, now undetermined
This journey I embark upon, should ease your troubled mind
I think I’m ready, fear subsides… and sorrow fades, I find
My eyes are closed though all I see, is you...in radiance
I do it all again my love, if given half the chance
I think it’s time I say farewell, but watch the open sky
The stars that drift above your head…hold just a trace
of you and I
So if I pass away tonight, remember things we said
And so replace your bitter tears, with those of joy instead
And know..
I am with you.

Re: TAKEN FROM FACEBOOK

Barney, thanks for that. However, personally I find it a bit too long which loses the effect. Just my opinion.

Barney,

As Joe says to anything romantic or airy-fairy - " They're codding themselves"
