A Voice crying in the Wilderness

Hi all,

Is anyone else there,? Seems to be a blip in conversation lately, except for the usual few "old hands."

This is our Bank Holiday w/end but the weather is not promising so except for a birthday dinner this evening, in Killaloe, it will be home by the fire.

I was told last week after an M.R,I. that I need a new knee, so not looking forward to that, but on a waiting list, so probably after Christmas, unless I go in privately. At the moment that out of the question.

" Suffer on till January" as the old time boyfriend of 20 years courting said to his middle- aged girlfriend in Lisburn.

A Happy w/end to everyone rain or shine....Pat

Re: A Voice crying in the Wilderness

Pat, I just posted a long reply to you, telling you about our lovely holiday in Galway three weeks ago,but it was classed as Spam. Honestly it was all clean (not a dirty weekend in sight). Sorry about that. Pam

Re: A Voice crying in the Wilderness

Pat, Sorry to hear about your knee, hope they take care of it soon?. I had typed a long reply to yours but lost it, I guess it was spammed seems to be happening often now at least more often than before. What is the celebration for the long weekend you are having? I guess they have differant ones in the south to what they have in the North.

We celebrated Thanksgiving day a couple of weeks ago which is the last long weekend untill Xmas though for some eg.Government and Bank employees Novemeber 11th is a holiday, can never understand the thinking behind that for as far as I am concerned it should be a holiday for everyone especially veterans, but typical of the stupid thinking of our politicians, we have just had a general election and while the Consertative Government was defeated by a Liberal majority not who I voted for. Re: A Voice crying in the Wilderness

Hi Pamela & Mauri,

Lovely to hear from you both, pity about the Spamming, hope this is not a target.

Pamela, not surprised you enjoyed Galway, it is a lively city always busy & loads to see & do, a young peoples city too, full of students etc, keeps the place alive.

Mauri, this long w/end is our Halloween one, the clocks go back tonight too & we prepare for Winter. No work until Tuesday, next holiday is Christmas.

Bronagh & family will be here early November for Bronagh's 50th Birthday on 11th November, so a big family celebration planned. It is a long time since all the Canadians were here together so looking forward to the gathering.

Re: A Voice crying in the Wilderness

Hi Pat

I have sympathy ,regarding your sore knee ,as I have the same problem .
My wifes aunt has been to Brian Borue country at Killaloe ,and she has said that the hotel was lovely .
Not wanting to get spammed .
Take care !
Tommy

Re: A Voice crying in the Wilderness

I had that done about 10 years ago Pat and not a bother from it since then ,my other knee is now not so good, relics from hodding days i guess

Re: A Voice crying in the Wilderness

Tommy,

We'll have a race to see who has the operation first. Hear all scary stories about the after pain being worse than the previous, but as for me I would go in tomorrow to get it over with & be on the mend.

This is our Cross Tom, we are luckier than most, glad to have a companion in pain. Please God before Summertime we shall be skipping around like a 2 year old again.

Pat

Re: A Voice crying in the Wilderness

Barney,

Was it a long painful recovery, how long before you were normal again walking? Did you have it done with a general anaesthetic or otherwise. Was the hospital stay long.? Thanks for the encouragement.

Pat

Re: A Voice crying in the Wilderness

Tommy,

Next time in Killaloe go to The Cherry Tree for a meal. Sumptious & reasonable. We went for a family birthday party there last w/end.

2 course dinner 21Euros, 3course 29Euros. Good wine list but a bit expensive starting at 20Euros. One bottle is never enough.

Well worth a visit, lovely atmosphere & surroundings, looking over the Lake.
