Some hotels offer rooms very cheaply to attract guests in the hope they will spend evenings in the bar thus evening out the loss from the rooms. I remember being in the restaurant of a large casino in Florida and the food was excellent and cheap no doubt being subsidized by the gamblers. Also the gambling boats there, free passage and drinks for the same rason

Re: hotels drink ban

Barney, re the drinks ban in some hotels, how would the hotel know if you had drinks in your possession anyhow. Are they going to carry out a body search? I can't see this one working. Personally speaking, we never did bring our own alcohol when staying in an hotel, as we always liked to have a drink in the bar with other people. However, it will be interesting to see how this works out.

Re: hotels drink ban

If the body search is by pretty colleens, let me know!
