The Lisburn Exiles Forum is dedicated to the memory of James Goddard Collins (The Boss) who single-handedly built LISBURN.COM (with a lot of help from many contributors) from 1996 to 29th November 2012. This website was his passion and helping people with a common interest in the City of Lisburn around the world is his lasting legacy.

THE VICTORY CLINCH LEAGUE TITLE

AN agonising 47 hours of waiting came down to 12 excruciating minutes last night as Melbourne Victory clinched the A-League premiership and a place in the 2010 Asian Champions League.

After beating Wellington Phoenix 2-0 on Friday night, Victory went top of the table and set Adelaide United the task of needing to beat Central Coast Mariners by two goals to pip Melbourne for the premiership in the last game of the A-League season.

It was not to be for Adelaide, who twice hit the woodwork in a 1-0 win in Gosford last night.
