Lisburn Exiles Forum

(Site is no longer operational pending a major long overdue overhaul of the entire website. Thank you for your patience. Site should still be visible and searchable for old posts.)

The Lisburn Exiles Forum is dedicated to the memory of James Goddard Collins (The Boss) who single-handedly built LISBURN.COM (with a lot of help from many contributors) from 1996 to 29th November 2012. This website was his passion and helping people with a common interest in the City of Lisburn around the world is his lasting legacy.

Earliest Ancestor

My earliest known ancestor was James Cordner(borne 1750), who left Ireland and a linen industry family to join the Royal Irish in fighting for the British in the American War of Independence. under the leadership of Lord Rawdon. After retirement, James lived in 16 Castle St., Lisburn and died in 1823. His son James Edward lived in Derramore and was a Minister of the Church of Ireland. JE's second son Henry emigrated to Australia in 1852. My greatest interest is in finding out the birth place and parents of the original James Cordner??
