The Lisburn Exiles Forum is dedicated to the memory of James Goddard Collins (The Boss) who single-handedly built LISBURN.COM (with a lot of help from many contributors) from 1996 to 29th November 2012. This website was his passion and helping people with a common interest in the City of Lisburn around the world is his lasting legacy.

Hello Billy

Interested in all you have been posting, another one with a great memory! I wonder if you knew my da, the boxer Billy Thompson. We lived in Well Lane and he was well known in boxing circles. There is a photo of him in the old photograph section with the boxing club, but my husband thinks it is faulty in that everyone looks thinner than they really were. Certainly my dad was never that thin in my memory. He was born in 1920, and died in 1990.
