Lisburn Exiles Forum

(Site is no longer operational pending a major long overdue overhaul of the entire website. Thank you for your patience. Site should still be visible and searchable for old posts.)

The Lisburn Exiles Forum is dedicated to the memory of James Goddard Collins (The Boss) who single-handedly built LISBURN.COM (with a lot of help from many contributors) from 1996 to 29th November 2012. This website was his passion and helping people with a common interest in the City of Lisburn around the world is his lasting legacy.

Is this Pension Day?

Where is everybody?. It must be pension day and you're all out collecting, except LR who has been in touch. It's like the old rhyme my husband comes out with every Christmas because he says it was very daring in his young day. It goes as follows@

It was Christmas Day in the workhouse
And the boys were feeling Merry
Merry got up and walked out.

Swop Christmas Day for Pension Day.

Re: Is this Pension Day?

When nobody bought a round of drink or threw the fags around we asked " Is this the Co Quarter? "

Re: Re: Is this Pension Day?

I can still rhyme off my mother's old Co number. What about the divvy at the end of the quarter?
