The Lisburn Exiles Forum is dedicated to the memory of James Goddard Collins (The Boss) who single-handedly built LISBURN.COM (with a lot of help from many contributors) from 1996 to 29th November 2012. This website was his passion and helping people with a common interest in the City of Lisburn around the world is his lasting legacy.

Fathers Day

Today is a public holiday and also Fathers Day here in Germany, later this morning if it doesn't rain guess where to a group of us Vätern are making a bike trip? Right first time Dabbler.

Donald. Its also Ascension Day, the Thursday in the 6th week after Easter Sunday (thanks to Wikipedia)
Around the world the days are confusing. Here in Aussie we've just had Mothers Day last Sunday while in the UK it was 18th March (4th Sunday in Lent). Here Fathers Day is 1st Sunday in Sept while at home its 3rd Sunday in June. Maybe the idea is to move them around so we can plead ignorance when we forget to call home. Sean
