Water rate charges

Agree with all of you about challenging the water charges. Say nothing & before u know it every year these charges increase, it was the same with bin charges, started off a few Euros then every year increased until now its treble the amount. Surely we have water to go round, the old saying used to b "Ireland would b rich if it could export water & men" PAT

Re: Water rate charges

it,s funny to hear of people complaining about water rate increases. ever consider how lucky you are to have it?. when water tanks go dry and it costs a lot to buy and transport it . you have the shortest shower possible and have a bucket in with you to collect water to try to save some garden plants ..
water is precious raising the price can control wastage
good luck to all

Re: Re: Water rate charges

Hey, the visual this one conjures up is just hilarious.

Catching a bucket of water while you are in the shower is some trick I have to say.

lot,s of people in australia are doing it and other methods to save water a brick in the toilet cistern? turning water off to brush your teeth and use a mug of water instead , no washing cars no hoses allowed
we,re all in this world and water is finate all we have is all we have .

Pat, see my reply to Hen.
TLC and Tommy: Apart from when we have visitors, we use rain water, which we empty into the cistern, to as we flush the toilet. I have put extra guttering and downpipes redirected to large containers. Works a treat.
