Lisburn Exiles Forum

(Site is no longer operational pending a major long overdue overhaul of the entire website. Thank you for your patience. Site should still be visible and searchable for old posts.)

The Lisburn Exiles Forum is dedicated to the memory of James Goddard Collins (The Boss) who single-handedly built LISBURN.COM (with a lot of help from many contributors) from 1996 to 29th November 2012. This website was his passion and helping people with a common interest in the City of Lisburn around the world is his lasting legacy.

Norniron poetry

I worshipped you in silence,
and built for you a throne,
within the sanctuary of my heart,
ruling my world alone.

I marvelled at your beauty,
your slender form and grace,
the tenderness adorning
your winsome, smiling face.

No stars were ever brighter,
than your sweet sparkling eyes,
welding a power that lured me,
nearer to paradise.

I longed to hear the magic,
of your sweet Lisburn voice,
one word, spoken direct to me,
would make my soul rejoice.

Then one night in the picture house,
as close to me you sat
you said to your companion,
" what,s speckie luckin at ! "

Re: Norniron poetry

Yes, Donald. That poem did make me laugh. Great punchline.

Re: Norniron poetry

Look closely at the third line of the third stanza and you'll see those were hot eyes.

Re: Norniron poetry

Yes, Dabbler. I type without checking too.

Re: Norniron poetry

I cannot take credit for someone else's work, I once heard it somewhere and changed it slightly to the present version. Was it George Washington who once said, " I cannot tell a lie" ?
