The Lisburn Exiles Forum is dedicated to the memory of James Goddard Collins (The Boss) who single-handedly built LISBURN.COM (with a lot of help from many contributors) from 1996 to 29th November 2012. This website was his passion and helping people with a common interest in the City of Lisburn around the world is his lasting legacy.

Boxing day.

I was watching TV yesterday and where did boxing day question came up and the answer they gave was that in the olden days the rich folk would put food,clothes etc in "BOXES" and give it to their hired help.
I wish you all a healthy & safe New Year and look forward to reading more interesting titbits in the Exiles .Sally BC Canada.

Sally you are partly right also Sean, both seem to appear as the correct answers to Boxing Day name. Very Best Wishes to All for 2007. Sean not for the tip the other answer (poor Boxes)
