Lisburn Exiles Forum

(Site is no longer operational pending a major long overdue overhaul of the entire website. Thank you for your patience. Site should still be visible and searchable for old posts.)

The Lisburn Exiles Forum is dedicated to the memory of James Goddard Collins (The Boss) who single-handedly built LISBURN.COM (with a lot of help from many contributors) from 1996 to 29th November 2012. This website was his passion and helping people with a common interest in the City of Lisburn around the world is his lasting legacy.

The Lagan Valley Hospital

Hi all,
Is my memories playing tricks on me or do I remember correctly large wards in the main building where smoking in bed was allowed.***. When someone was dying screens were placed around the bed. I recall also Members of a charitable organisation ( St Vincent de Paul ? ) visiting the patients and distributing packs of 10 cigarettes and other presents. Wasn,t there also a type of pre fab Buildings in the grounds used also to house patients?

ps, off to Hannover this morning until Wednesday and would like to see a few contributions here upon my return. Dabbler where are you?
