The Lisburn Exiles Forum is dedicated to the memory of James Goddard Collins (The Boss) who single-handedly built LISBURN.COM (with a lot of help from many contributors) from 1996 to 29th November 2012. This website was his passion and helping people with a common interest in the City of Lisburn around the world is his lasting legacy.

Tatoo for Gerhard Schroeder

Hi all
Gerhard Schroeder has just been officialy discharged as chancellor of Germany in a very moving ceremony, a Tatoo or "Zapfenstreich " as the Germans call it. He chose three pieces of music, "Summertime ", " Mack the Knife " and " I did it my way ". The commentator on TV explained the similarity between the British and the German ( Prussish ) military . The ceremony took place in front of the Town Hall in Hannover, his birthplace with full military honours and a regiment of "Bundeswehr" solders with torch bearers and military band.
