Buckeye Bluegrass & Michigan Bluegrass Forum

Welcome to our forum. Feel free to post a message. This forum is for the promotion of Bluegrass Music in the states of Ohio and Michigan. If you have a question about a festival or a group, are looking for a special guitar, or just want to chat about the great show or jam you went to last night, here is the place. Let's all keep it clean and play nice, y'all here? For Michigan Bluegrass visitors... you'll have to use your back browser button to get back to the Michigan Bluegrass site! I'm sorry! Until we have seperate forums, we'll have to deal with this. We felt that one forum would be best and a little cheaper on our pocketbooks, since is all by donation and little bit of advertising! Hope you all understand!

wanted - Central Ohio gtr, mandolin, fiddle

I'm an upright bass player interested in starting an acoustic group to play styles from bluegrass to jazz.

Thanks,
Dave
Pataskala, Oh.

Re: wanted - Central Ohio gtr, mandolin, fiddle

Dave,
Sounds interesting. Something along the lines of Grisman/Garcia type approach?

Re: wanted - Central Ohio gtr, mandolin, fiddle

Pretty close.
I'm a big fan of all the Strength In Numbers guys and I have a jazz background. It's a band configuration that I dont think really exists in Columbus right now so there might be some gigs out there.
Maybe festivals as well as some clubs.
If nothing else, some laid back playing....

Thanks,
Dave

Hey Dave - sounds like it could be a good tinme. I'm just sorry I live out in NE corner of OH. I too am a BIG fan of Fleck, Bush and the rest of them boys...Rice is my hero. I'm in 3 bands so committing to yet another one is out, but jamming with someone who can play those styles would be very welcome to me.

Good luck

Mark Miracle

Yeah, I was thinking about Tony Rice's "Backwaters" album too.

Feel free to send an email with your location and instrument (I assume Guitar) but in case...
Maybe we can hook up some time and work out some arrangements we can bring take with us...
