Well here we are in 2010. The economy may be unstable but we are still standing. For us appraisers, the goal is to find new business, cut cost and still continue to do quality work. That is what I think is the most important aspect of any business large or small.
How can we achieve this in today's economy? We can start by saying no to amc's who still somehow ignore hvcc and still ask us to "give more value". If the value was there in the first place, we would give it. It takes time to go back and review and/or revise. But out of "professional courtesy", some appraisers do it anyway. How about instead of giving a professional courtesy, we take that time and find more professional clients. Those that actually follow the rules of hvcc or try to. How?? Let's get back to good old pounding the pavement and utilizing the web as our tools of marketing. And let us not forget good old fashion quality work.
