Sorry for any delay in answering this query but here it is. To get your hands on one of the remaining copies of George Fage’s very funny book you need to send a cheque for £8.00 to his partner Pat.
The cheque must be made payable to “Patricia Kincaid” and sent with your request to 9 Blundells Road, Tilehurst, Berks, RG30 4TR. Please enclose your telephone number just in case the postage has gone up.

The book is full of anecdotes of times gone by in and around the area we grew up and you will recognise many if not all the places he mentions. My favourite bit is when a brewery in Tottenham Court Road exploded and all the people around was found laying down in the gutter not dead but drinking the bear before it flowed away down the drain.
It will be the best eight quid you ever spent.
