This forum is for the discussion of anything to do with Prostate Cancer. There are only four rules:
No fundraisers, no commercials (although it is OK to recommend choices of treatment or medical people based on your personal research; invitations to participate in third-party surveys are also acceptable, provided there is no compensation to YANA);
No harvesting e-mail addresses for Spam;
No insults or flaming - be polite and respectful at all times and understand that there may be a variety of points of view, all of which may have some validity;
Opinions are OK, but please provide as much factual evidence as possible for any assertions that you are making
Failure to abide by these simple rules will result in the immediate and permanent suspension of your posting privileges.

I'm waiting to talk to my urologists and surgeon Tues.I had my biopsy and a pet scan which showed a significant amount of cancer in the prostrate,it is contained to the prostrate according to pet scan which they say only thing Is to not treat it.Talked to the radiation oncology and he said with amount of cancer in prostrate it would be most likely best to remove it,his thought is if you do radiation and odds our 90 percent where if they do surgery and it comes back then they can get rest with radiation.Like I said no final decision to be made until Tuesday which is 3 days away but it sounds like to remove the prostrate is best decision
Short answer here due to questionable connection issues for site. My opinion only here - go with surgery for the attempt at a cure and a chance to gather solid facts from pathology results. Surgery also allows for a plan "B" if not completely successful. Jon R.
