This forum is for the discussion of anything to do with Prostate Cancer. There are only four rules:
No fundraisers, no commercials (although it is OK to recommend choices of treatment or medical people based on your personal research; invitations to participate in third-party surveys are also acceptable, provided there is no compensation to YANA);
No harvesting e-mail addresses for Spam;
No insults or flaming - be polite and respectful at all times and understand that there may be a variety of points of view, all of which may have some validity;
Opinions are OK, but please provide as much factual evidence as possible for any assertions that you are making
Failure to abide by these simple rules will result in the immediate and permanent suspension of your posting privileges.
Since this is an International Forum, please specify your location in your post.
Thank you for posting your question on our Discussion Forum. Please go to: http://yananow.org/query_stories.php and select "External Beam Radiation" from the Primary Treatment list, then select "Proton Beam" from the secondary list, and you will find 39 stories from Survivors who are still actively updating their stories.
You can contact any of those men to gather more information about their treatment experience with Proton Beam.
Yes, I am now celebrating my 12 years of cancer free prostate, and am now 82 years old. I was treated at the University of Florida in Jacksonville in the fall of 2008. Please reference my postings on this site for all the information.
I highly recommend the Proton Radiation if the cancer is still contained. Best of luck to you.......
Hello Kevin and interested others...... Yes, as you can see on my writeup, I'm 12 years down the recovery road. If you are interested in information from the Radiotherapy Clinics of Georgia I was sent a 29 page very informative brochure recently, complete with graphs and pictures and 2 videos, which I want to pass on and hopefully keep in circulation for those in the southeast U.S., and anywhere else!
