Casodex without Lupron to manage PSA progression

I am at that stage of my journey where ADT seems to be the next step, after failures of surgery and salvage radiation treatment to " cure" my Gleason 9(5+4) prostate cancer which continues to display a doubling time of less than 4 months since it was diagnosed 2 and 1/2 years ago.
Recently, Imhave come across a few anectodal reports of Casodex alone slowing PSA progression and successfully delaying the start of Lupron injections.
Any one have data to share?

Re: Casodex without Lupron to manage PSA progression

Al; I have no info like you requested but have some questions mostly after reading the account of your journey so far. I wonder why you have stopped the medical marijuana project you were doing since it appears, by what you said there in your account, that it was having a holding effect on your progression. I am naturally skeptical of all unconventional treatments but do keep an open mind to all - after all it is a drug as are any of the drug based conventionally recognized treatments for this disease. What is the theory behind its effectiveness? Is there some glaring deficiency that made you stop using it? Naturally I know it is not good for you to use but then none of the conventional drugs are good for one to take either. Jon.

Al,
I too have a doubling time of about 4 months on my recurrence GS 8 cancer, after beinging in remission for five years. You mention "imaging studies" in your story. What kind of scans are they? Have you had a C-11 Choline PET scan? I've read that this kind of scan would be much better at detecting remote bone mets than the common bone CT scan.
