condom catheters

I recently had radical prostate surgery after having a blood and bladder infection from the biopsy. There was damage from the infection and then the surgery was very severe. It is only 2 weeks out from surgery and of course things can improve although my urologist is not very encouraging!
We have had a trip planned and a lot paid for- leaving for Iceland, Greenland, UK etc involving 2 cruises and travel by car. We would be away from the 10th of Aug for just over a month (33 days).
This week we must make a decision, go ahead and finishing paying and booking flights etc or try to claim on insurance.
We have read about condom catheters and wonder if they are good. They appeal to me in that I have no control when I stand up or walk at present. I am using pads, pants etc but this sounds like the catheter could make it easier to manage. We don't have much time to make a decision and as you would know I am not feeling too good about it all at present.
I live in Perth WA Australia. Can anyone help on good places in Perth to go to look at supplies as it is difficult to really know what to order over the internet? Any comments on the success of the condoms would also be appreciated.
Regards
Tom
