MRI Fusion Biopsy

I am just going for a first biopsy and wanted to know if any insurances ( or Medicare) cover some of the MRI fusion biopsy? Thank you for your help.

Re: MRI Fusion Biopsy

Drew, I think that might depend on what country you live in. Where do you live?

Brian,
Thank you for the reply. USA.

Re: MRI Fusion Biopsy

Drew,

I believe Medicare cover's it. Typically, this is a 2 step process. You get the MRI and depending on what they see, you can choose to get a fusion biopsy that combines the images from the MRI to the Ultrasound so they can get better samples of the suspected tumor. Typically, the facility will check your insurance to see if you are covered.
