Re: TURP or "Transurethral Resection of the Prostate"

Hi Rick and welcome,
Basically for me, the choice was either catherise myself every day or have the TURP. I chose to have the TURP. In hindsight it was the right decision for me. Do feel free to ask any questions that may be on your mind?

best wishes
john

Re: TURP or "Transurethral Resection of the Prostate"

Thank you for your reply John. Sorry I have taken so long to reply - I have had much on my mind of late and found myself preoccupied with "bladder spasms". Had 6 yesterday. brutal buggars those. Anyway, how long ago did you have the TURP (as they? say sometimes these don't last forever and one may have to be re-reamed. Was it hard to recover just after you had the TURP? Also some say this can be a bloody mess in the urethra. I dont' know. if you want to comment - thanks - Rick

Re: TURP or "Transurethral Resection of the Prostate"

There is a drug to reduce/eliminate bladder spasms. I was prescribed it but never used it after my prostatectomy.
