Sex after surgery

I had my prostate removed by a skilled surgeon about 8 years ago when I was 58 as 2 of my biopsies tested positive. I still have no PSA, had no pain from the operation, no incontinence and my golf game is good. However, I find that Viagara is not as helpful as it once was for maintaining an erection during sex ( only have it infrequently with my wife as I think she figured it was vacation time for her as we had had a lot of sex over the years ). I'm interested in making a comeback in this area as I'm very young for my age and the winters are cold in Canada. Has anyone had any luck with penile implant surgery ? I might retire in a couple of years...and you can only play so much golf. Thanks.

Re: Sex after surgery

Hi bobbyboy,
There is a wealth of information on www.franktalk.org They have a sub forum on penile implants and also penile injections, which also might be worth a look at. Penile injections work very well. I use Tri Mix. Implants are very expensive, painful recovery, and irreversible.

best wishes,
john

Re: Sex after surgery

Thanks John. I think the injections sound like the way to go .Are they very painful ?

Re: Sex after surgery

Well how does about a two out of ten sound? Get the technique right and it is just a small prick.

best wishes,
john

Re: Sex after surgery

I hope you and your wife have discussed this as you may find out she is not quite as enthusiastic on the idea as you might think.

Re: Sex after surgery

Good point. She seems to be quite content to enjoy life without much sex as she is early 60's and has packed on a few pounds which she seems embarrassed by. She was quite hot in our dating days. She did however go out and buy a black lacy outfit recently while on vacation with me in the States and this seems to have given her more confidence.... and me more encouragement. Let's face it however, sex in one's 60's is nothing at all like sex in our teens and 20's and thirties. Luckily, someone invented tasty wines to help pass the time as we age.
