Good Cancer Centers/Physicians in Northern Virginia

Can anyone recommend good cancer centers (such as Georgetown or John Hopkins) and good general physicians/urologists/oncologists in the Northern Virginia Area?

I am very new to prostate problems, and I am trying to learn about PC. I am 74, in reasonably good health, and have a current PSA of 12.6. In 2007 my PSA was 6.6. I also have an enlarged prostate and void frequently but minimally.

This site has stressed the importance of finding a good cancer center and physicians, and is a follow-up of a previous post "Doctor to choose".

Thanks in advance for all replies and assistance

I am in DC and my Urologist at GWU got good reviews on so that is another place to look.

Snuffy Myers was recommended on your other thread - down in Charlottesville I think,

Has anyone had experience with INOVA Fairfax Hospital in Virginia, or Dr. Paquette who is afflicted with it? This was the recommendation of my general physician.
Thanks again

For what it is worth here are some more reviews.

Re: Good Cancer Centers/Physicians in Northern Virginia

My team is in George Washington University Hospital in DC, just crossing Memorial Bridge. They are a very good team of urologists and different doctors specialize in different urological problems: BPH, PCa, etc. I was being seen by a physician who treated BPH, but when she suspected PCa she referred me to an oncologist in the team. The Director, Dr. Frazier, is a very respected surgeon with the DA Vinci robotic system, in case that is the way to go in our case.

Johns Hopkins, in Baltimore, also has the best team. I consulted with DR. Alan Partin at JH without knowing, at the time of my consultation, that he is the best among equals and that students use his books to study. Excellent attention at JH. Best ever.
Hope this helps.
