Firmagon failure

Greetings,
Diagnosed 8 years ago at age 56, PSA 23, Gleason 9.
IMRT , 2 years ADT (Zoladex), to undetectable PSA
biochemical failure after about 4 years
TURP after complete urinary blockage
Monthly Firmagon for 6 months
3 months vacation, then when PSA rose sharply: 6 more months Firmagon to present.

Current PSA 9.04 (PSA was 5.79 six weeks ago), Testosterone less than 0.5.
Welcome suggestions, before my meeting with oncologist next week.

Health to all!

Eitan

Re: Firmagon failure

I don't know if you will be able to afford it or if it would be available to you, but your case is, I suspect, one of systemic (or metastatic) PCa where the met sites are not identifiable. If so, Zytiga may work as well for you as it has done for me.

Good Luck

Re: Firmagon failure

Glad to hear it is working for you- hope that my health fund will approve my use- and that it will have good results as well!
