john q:
Avodart and Proscar block the production of dht as per Dr. Snuffy Meyers in his book "Beating Prostate Cancer: Hormonal Therapy & Diet"
I am a patient of Dr. Meyers and on Avodart for the treatment of recurrent cancer. You can follow my progress on my online journal; see

thanks don very helpful god bless wl ttk again

Re: testerone and dhr

the newer research does support that conclusion. it's not necessarily testosterone, but DHT, which the body metabolizes from testosterone.

Re: testerone and dhr

I just completed treatment with Dattoli, based on my initial stats, he prescribed Finasteride to prevent testosterone from converting into DHT. I was dismayed about that, considering my treatment completed and hoping to be off all meds.

I have a friend who has been on Finasteride for over 10 years following triple blockade and chemotherapy. He is extremely satisfied with his long-term, low, steady PSA's.
