Appears to depend a great deal on the lab. At home here in Michigan I can get PSA results the next day. When wintering in Texas the lab will not provide me the results. I need to contact my doctor and results are not available for several days.
Mine are mailed directly to me - copy to my GP - the same day the blood is taken so i receive them the next day. and it doesn't cost me anything.
My INR results for my wrfarin watch are sent to my phone by SMS withion about six hours of the blood being taken - again no cost.
Darned socialist medicine - why is it so good???
Talking of socialist medicine, my new Urologist is a bit pricey compared to my oncologist where i co-pay $5.60 a visit and my cardiologist where I co-pay $15.75 a visit. He got me to pay a full $21.63 for the hour I spent with him - but there will be no co-pay at all for my hospital stay.
In Canada I can get my results on-line before the end of the day if I get tested in the morning. The on-line system also lets me graph the results from the last few years.
