Help for spouses?

Thank you for this website. One of the most informative I have found. I would like to know if there is a specific website, chat, blog, etc for spouses/girlfriends to discuss issues they go through.
My husband was diagnosed with aggressive prostate cancer. PSA 10.6, Gleason score 8 and 9 in 13 of 15 cores of biopsy. Had surgery last month but cancer has spread to seminal vesicle, lymph nodes and outside of the prostate. Will have more tests next week. My husband is 73 yrs old with no other medical issues, has never been in hospital and does not take any prescription medications. He is not overweight, works out at gym and golf, skiing, walking, etc daily. We are shocked.
What is worse, his doctor "missed" his lab results for the last 2 yrs and his PSA was 7.6 last year and had risen from 1 to 3.2 the year before. Dr. stated that he thought he had reviewed all the labs and signed off on them but did not get to bottom where PSA was. So my husband has had the cancer at least a year before diagnosed and probably 2 yrs.
Thanks.

Re: Help for spouses?

So sorry to read of your husband's diagnosis, Genie. Hopefully even with what is not a good set of figures you will have him for many years to come.

There is a page on the site at RESOURCES FOR THE WOMENFOLK OF PROSTATE CANCER MEN where I have listed some of the forums that I have been able to find where women candiscuss theirpertinent issues. I hope you find that page helpful.

Terry's reference provides you with many options and resources. There is another Pca site that you may find helpful, i. e.,"The New Prostate Cancer InfoLink" This site has a link devoted to "Wives and Partners" and generally offers you an opportunity to interact with other women whose circumstances are similar to yours; see http://prostatecancerinfolink.ning.com/
Best wishes Don O.

Re: Help for spouses?

Thank you Don and Terry. I will check both suggestions out. I appreciate your messages! Jeanette
