New Zealand health system

I was attracted to the survivor story on this site of a gentleman from New Zealand because his initial age of diagnosis was the same as mine (77) and because his Gleason score was the same (9). He had a very low PSA while mine was very high. He had to use the government health system. "Because of his age" radiation was ruled out. He had a heart problem which they addressed with angioplasty, which didn't work. They were to try another angioplasty at a later date. I too had an angioplasty which didn't work, but it was followed up within days by a heart bypass (covered by Medicare). This gentleman from NZ did not get a bypass. I wonder if they are rationing health care for the elderly in New Zealand.
