Anyone here ever undergone salvage radiation following prostatectomy in the Augusta, GA, area? I had prostatectomy in 2002 at age 51. PSA staye undetectable but recently there has been an 'ever so slight' rise. My GP thinks I need to see a rad onc just in the event that I do need salvage radiation.
Looking for a good doc in the Augusta, GA, area...and wondering if there are some rad oncologists in this area who specialize in this type of salvage radiation.
Are ALL rad oncologists the same for follow up, or do I need someone who specializes??
I can't help you directly, but can I suggest you mail JACK JENNINGS. He didn't have slvage radiation therapy but he ha a very good knowledge of radiation in general and in Georgia in particular. He may be able to help you.
I liked the Dr I spoke with but I finally decided to go to Emory in Atlanta because of Dr. Rossi and the fact my Infectious disease Dr was in Atlanta also. I had 44 IMRT treatments at Emory for my primary treatment but I do know some guys that were there for salvage therapy if you would like to speak to them. I stayed at the American Cancer Hope Lodge while I was being treated.
Good luck in your research and email me if I can assist.
