Prednisone

At present I am taking prednisone 2 5mg tablets a day, and peviously had dexametasone, the basic idea to pick me up and give me a boost in energy.
Now I have thought for some time that these 2 steroid drugs do more harm than good,(in my case anyway),has anyone else gone off these drugs in the past and had an improvement in quality of life ???
I am aware that one has to be weaned off slowly to avoid adrenal problems (addissons disease). These drugs I reckon make me very "anxious" and give me some bad flushes and cold sweats and in my view make me more tired than ever interfering with my sleeping patterns.
Your views and experiences appreciated,Thanks,David Barnett,Mangawhai,New Zealand

Re: Prednisone

I had a terrible reaction to prednisone more than 20 years ago, bad enough to go to the ER, and it took me more than a couple of years to get over it. Still have bad memories. It is listed on all my medical records that I am allergic to it. I would never consent to be put back on it again.
