Re: Exploring Prostate Cancer Treatment Options

My copy of "Invasion of the Prostate Snatchers" showed up yesterday also and as a believer in there being too many unnecessary biopsies, too much radical treatment and too much misery from treatment that should never have happened, I can't wait to get into the book and see what Scholz and Blum have to say.

I had the good fortune of attending a presentation by Mark Scholz at the Conference of the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia at the Gold Coast four weeks ago. However, I thought he was fairly guarded with his comments during that presentation and definitely did not come out all guns blazing. Maybe it was because of the company he was in (eminent surgeons, etc. in attendance) and he didn't want to be too controversial.

Anyhow, I assume that this latest book will reveal his real feelings on the topics of over-diagnosis and over-treatment.

Terry, should we have a separate thread for comments about this book ?

I think we can just post comments on this thread, Brian.

All the best
