Re: Lupron

Finally seeing wisdom from a urologist seen plenty that defied logic and going against all the specialists onco-docs, I find that refreshing. Why take a drug that isn't effective and has some nasty effects like bone density loss that could lead to compression and even crippling...yada..yada. Might be wonderful drug in the beginning, long term and when not effective, what does common sense say about such? John Hopkins has things to say about it in longer term useage, recent findings.

Always debatable and what isn't in this dragon from every angle, even A.S./W.W. hotly argued forever.

An interesting read is Dr. Fred Lee's PCa 27 yrs. journey, doesn't mean that would work for you, doesn't mean it is garbage either, but some uro-docs would never endorse it or mention it, his friend is uro-doc Dr. Bob B. whom supports Dr. Lee and sends his own PCa patients over to Dr. Lee for color doppler ultrasounds and guided biopsies, instead of himself doing them. (google his journey)

Some, especially uro-docs believe only 2-3 drugs work and that is it, all else is worthless basically and they contend like the abstracts they found that point to the makes no difference what you take to treat PCa you have an alotted time frame, theorehtically. Kind of why try mentality, makes them seem like pessimists and grim reapers to me. My role models are the survivors, the innovators, the breakthrough types, the risk takers the forward lookers. Anybody can die with Dr. Conservative and his overly objective Rx, I would rather die trying and find virtue in the battle and lay pavement for someone else starting the same journey. Maybe show that Dr. Conservative is historically proven wrong, that happens to experts now and then. How do you chose to proceed in your battle, surrender to one docs opinion or seek maybe some of those specialists? It is your choice, your future. You have choices, Dr. Strum mentions when a patient is failed in curative scenarios, the urologist is not whom should be analysizing your case and treating you, read his book for enlightenment on the biology of PCa. Surely someone will shoot me down for being optimistic facing death with PCa, is your house made of glass.
