Meditation

Terry:
Meditation sounds good to me. Can you give me any help on starting out?

I am completely ignorant on this subject. Where shall I start?

Re: Meditation

Don,

You might like to read up material on the Internet. If you put meditation into Google you'll find about 23 million sites!!

Perhaps it would be a good idea to read the article on WIKIPEDIA which gives you a good background on the issue and it's history.

Another site that looks interesting and may be worth exploring is an Australian one The Meditations Society of Australia which offers free on line tuition. I don't know anything about them, but it looks as if it might be a helpful site.

No doubt there will be local organisations where you live that will offer meditation guidance - you may not have noticed them simply because you weren't looking:-) They will often be listed under Natural Therapies or suchlike.

Just a word of warning - some of the people who believe in this approach to life may have other theories that seem very strange - and they may even dress in a manner that most of us would think of as unusual. If those kind of people make you uneasy, avoid them, and find less eccentric people to help you.

Good luck - let us know how you go.
