The Prostate Cancer Quandary: How Aggressive Is That Tumor

An interesting piece in the Wall Street Journal at The Prostate Cancer Quandary: How Aggressive Is That Tumor?

I wonder just how close these studies are to finding the answers they seek - but the basic data so far certainly demonstrates clearly what has been said by those who espouse Active Surveillance - that most PCa is an indolent disease.

If this is confirmed by subsequent studies what a relief it will be for thousands of men each year.

Re: The Prostate Cancer Quandary: How Aggressive Is That Tumor

The question "How Aggressive Is MY Tumor?" has been paramount in my mind (and surely has been for all men diagnosed with PCa) since Day One of diagnosis. I sincerely hope this research moves quickly and is successful!

WOW, there is hope after all to reduce the number of un-necessary prostate cancer treatments. The number of different starting points for PCa that I estimated some time ago, just seemed small, compared to the number of stories described on web sites like this. There were just to few stories (on the web sites) that were alike for the number of men describing what they have been through. That number of different PCa's could be 40k to 50k men based on what is reported in this article.
