ED

Lets be realistic. In my profession,(engineer)I have learned after 30yrs not to be optimistic or pessimistic but instead face reality. I had robotic surgery by a surgeon in Alabama that had done over a thousand surgeries and had great personal stats (I see posts all of the time about "world class surgeons"). I had a post op pathology of gleason 6 and good continence and I am happy with that but I am impotent after 9 months. I have firm erections with bimix injections but orgasm without ejaculation (the muscle contractions or whatever it is that makes it good))feeling is 50% at best and one thing that is certain (100%) about this uncertain disease is that you will not ejaculate. My advice about surgery (only my opinion) is not to deceive yourself. You will sacrifice a lot in your quest for a cure if you choose surgery.

Re: ED

Well, I just passed the 2 year mark after robotic surgery. The ED situation has steadily improved, especially over the past 2 months, to a level better than pre-surgery. I buy 100 mg viagra and cut them in half, but do not always need/or use them.

Re: ED

Hi , I am one year on since RP.
I have total impotence . No erections at all. zilch.
I hope when I see my Doc next week to start down the road of doing something about it that works,ie Injections.
But I look round at life and think where I could be and am so pleased to hopefully enjoy my life with what ever I have. we are so lucky to have a second chance at this so I find I can live with it as does my wife.
Good luck for the future.
David

Re: ED

My feeling runs more like David in the prior post. We have found ourselves with a very nasty and serious disease that has shaken us deeply. And I am surely thankful that we live in a place and a time where highly complex medical procedures can bring about such a positive turnaround in our health and outlook. If there are sacrifices that result from fighting this cancer, that's surely to be expected.
