big drop in PSA does it mean anything?

My buddy has been getting his PSA tested for the past two years ever since I had my prostate removed. He is 61. His #'s were high ( not sure how high ) but I told him about Pomegranite Juice which he started drinking copious amounts of every day. Now his PSA # has dropped markedly and he feels relieved. Does this drop mean anything or can the pomegranite be masking or just delaying his problem?

Re: big drop in PSA does it mean anything?

Bobby,

PSA is NOT prostate cancer specific, so a 'high' PSA test, or one that falls, is more likely to have nothing to do with PCa and more to do with other issues, like prostatitis, bladder infections etc etc.

Can I suggest you go along toPSA 101 - and perhaps print it off for your buddy, or else go to STRANGE PLACE and, if you think it would help your pal, give me his postal address and I'll send him a hard copy at no charge.

All the best

Thanks Terry. That was great info. I'll let him know. I'm from Ontario Canada and it is really really cold here with snow on the ground. Good weather for a nice glass of red wine and to watch a good hockey game. Thanks again. Great site.
