  • No harvesting e-mail addresses for Spam;
  • No insults or flaming - be polite and respectful at all times and understand that there may be a variety of points of view, all of which may have some validity;
  • Opinions are OK, but please provide as much factual evidence as possible for any assertions that you are making

Failure to abide by these simple rules will result in the immediate and permanent suspension of your posting privileges.

Re: Prostate Cancer

Ben

On the Yana site there are more than 700 stories from men who have been diagnosed and who tell why they chose their treatment. Read through those and mail the men if you want any more information.

Click the 'Return to Website' Link above or the 'Return to Home Page Links' below to get to the indexes of the stories.

Good luck,

Terry in Australia

Re: Prostate Cancer

As Terry notes, check out the main site and search for people that are similar to you in age, gleason grade, etc. I found this very helpful.

Also, check out a great book by Dr Patrick Walsh "A Guide to Surviving Prostate Cancer" It has lots of good basic info on the whole topic. I found it very helpful.

Finally, not sure of your specific situation, but every doctor I spoke with reminded me that with prostate cancer you have some time to think things through and get treatment (in my case they wanted me to decide a treatment within six months). Again, your doctor will advise you on when treatment is needed.

Re: Prostate Cancer

The Prostate Cancer Research Institute web site has a whole section on the newely diagonosed and some valuable information on treatment options. They also just published a new initiative that recommends treatment optons based on low, intermediate and high risk PC.
