ED Quandry

I am an oxymoron. 58 y/o "Chiropractor with a bad back" and now bad penis!

I had the Davinci RP surgery just over two months ago. PSA less than .1, just a little stress incontinence but nothing major.

My surgeon had me start on lavitra 2x/week to try to stimulate blood flow, and to use the vacuuum pump.

Neither one does anything for me, I am very soft, and the few times I had soft stimulation, I could only get a very tiny short sharp feeling of pleasure.

He wanted me to continue this regime for 4-8 months, and then try injections.

I am reading and watching some videos of men who had the pump put in, and would like to get some feedback.

I am 58 years old, and really do not want to wait 4-8 months just to see if I could get a little harder than nothing than I am at now!

Please advise

Thanks,

Dr. Bob

Re: ED Quandry

Aloha Dr. Bob,
You are in a difficult position, and it will take time to sort this out. After 1 yr of Lupron Depot, it took me about 8 months (did not use or take any ED treatments) to wake up with a stiffness. At first, it was painful, after several months, that pain went away. In April of this year, I was able to have more normal sex experiences, no pain.
Everyone is different, especially surgery, just depends on what was or was not cut. To worry only makes it worse. Experiment with your wife/partner, find quiet, loving moves that you both enjoy. Once you accept treatment, it will never be the same. Just part of living with what you got.
Faith, Hope, & Love,
Joe

Re: ED Quandry

Bob,

I'm in a similar situation. It's been two years since my DaVinci. I tried all three drugs and the pump with no success. I've woken up during the night a few times with a partial but I can't seem to get one on command. My doc is pushing me to have the injections. No thanks. The thought of doing that would take away all desire.
